MP DISCUSSES WELCOMES PLANS FOR ROTHAMSTED SCIENCE PARK

- Wednesday, 14th December 2011

The Director and Head of Business gave presentations on their Vision and Strategy for Rothamsted Research and the future of the site.

Peter Lilley expressed enthusiasm for their plans, saying: “Rothamsted Research is one of Harpenden’s major employers and the longest running agricultural research station in the world.   The work carried out there is of immense value scientifically and environmentally and has great commercial potential. I support in principle Rothamsted’s plans to develop a science campus, which is in the early planning stages.   It will be important to maintain the character of the site but there is an empty building which could provide initial capacity and has already attracted indications of interest from leading research companies and institutions.”
